Small hostas easily fit into tight shade gardens spaces. They can be used along a walkway as an "edger" plant or as a stand alone specimen. Small hostas can be placed at the front of beds with medium hostas and large hostas to the rear of the beds. Here at Pine Forest Gardens we also like to group small hostas together in mass to create a beautiful shade garden. We recommend repotting small hostas in containers every 2 to 3 years using a well drained soil with added coarse perilite, gravel or pine bark compost.
