$12.00

2008 Hosta of the Year. A small unique hosta, that makes a wonderful little mound of heart-shaped blue leaves with great substance. Pale lavender bell-shaped flowers appear in June.

Cold Hardiness: U.S.D.A. Zones 3 to 9 - Hostas require a minimum of 40 days of around 40 degrees farenheit. Hosta plants tend to grow larger in the North. In the South you may need to be more selective in the varieties of hostas that you choose.
Light Requirements: Partial sun, filtered shade, morning sun. - Most hostas will tolerate some sun if the soil is kept reasonably moist. Morning sun or filtered sun is the best for hostas but avoid mid-day sun as it will burn the leaves.
Water Requirements: Keep soil constantly moist avoiding any areas where water may puddle
Fertilizer Requirements: In early Spring apply a light amount of slow-release fertilizer. Avoid getting any fertilizer on the leaves.

    Blue Mouse Eats Mini Hosta

My plant arrived in perfect condition, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how big and vigorous the plant was. It was packaged very well and it looks great in my mini hosta garden. The leaf structure is the shape of mouse ears, and it has a subtle blue green hue.

Mouse Ears, Fruit Loops and Curly Fries

I am thrilled with the Hostas I received. I was very nervous as a first time buyer from Pine Forest Gardens. I will not be nervous next time because the plants arrived in pristine condition. How is that possible via the US Mail? Here is what to expect: Box indicates which end to open, important. Shredded paper gently cradles the bundled plants. Each plant has plastic covering the roots. Roots are wrapped with wet newspaper, which can be unwound and moist roots easily unfold. These thoughtful extra steps made all the difference in the world. Thank you, Pine Forest Gardens.
