This gorgeous hosta continues the exciting new line of red-petioled yellow hostas. The yellow heart shaped leaves are both folded and puckered, but the most exciting feature is the piercing purple petiole that fills the base of the leaf and then travels halfway or more up the center leaf vein. In summer, the leaves have a purple blush that bathes the plant in brandy hues. The purple petioles will remain vibrant even as the leaves melt in late fall as the clump goes dormant.

Cold Hardiness: U.S.D.A. Zones 3 to 9 - Hostas require a minimum of 40 days of around 40 degrees fahrenheit. Hosta plants tend to grow larger in the North. In the South you may need to be more selective in the varieties of hostas that you choose.
Light Requirement: Partial sun, filtered shade, morning sun.
Water Requirements: Keep soil constantly moist avoiding any areas where water may puddle.
Fertilizer Requirements: In early Spring apply a light amount of slow-release fertilizer. Avoid getting any fertilizer on the leaves.

    Ordered Hostas

    I ordered 8 different hostas (Rainbow's End, Wheee!' , Humpback Whale, Lakeside Paisley, Inspire Greatness, Peach Brandy, Holar Purple Flash, Drop-Dead Gorgeous) -ALL were large, well rooted, beautiful plants that arrived so well packaged that not one was bent or broken.
